Chartres is a mind that is as dangerous and random as the goddess he follows, Umberlee. With a desire to flood the world for his divine matron, he wishes to further her reach on the prime material plane.

Backstory - I was sailing on the EvenTide, a fine, if small, trade ship headin to Baulders Gate. Storms began to rage around us, and the sea began to toss and turn us like a leaf in the wind. A massive wave capsized the ship, throwing everyone into the depths of the raging sea... That's when I saw it, a massive, writhing mass... A Kraken... Shock and dread filled me, and in that panic, I let go my breath. Water filled my lungs and I began to feel it, the darkness crept into my mind. A massive tentacle roped itself around me, I knew this was my end.
I heard a voice in me, and it said "You will serve me little one, as this creature serves me. Become my Harbinger, bring forth the Tide!"
Beyond my control, I was being pushed faster then I understood to the surface. The Kraken clutching me rushed me to open air above the somehow calm sea. How long had I been down there? She saved me, as did her devoted... Yes, I shall serve.
Chartres has had a successful career in following his goddess, accruing a mass of followers. However, in his service, the dwarf has gone mad. In order to commune with Umberlee, he nearly drowns himself, and others in order to bring them under the banner. He often will go underwater, use the Commune spell, and come back spouting water and claims of visions from his evil god.
The dwarf's armor is a deep blue with fluting of krakens and other creatures of the deep that are under Umberlee's rule. This full plate armor is heavily enchanted and magical, allowing him to breath under water, and have an unnatural swimming speed when the armor is equipped.
Chartres also has a gift from Umberlee, a pair of weresharks named Ripper and Terror. These two creatures can assume human form, but very rarely do, as they enjoy being Large scarred up sharks instead. They guard Chartres' new vessel, the Crashing Wave, when it is sailing or in port.
