Halle' - Wholly Unholy

Halle' is the brain child of a discussion I was having with my fiancée regarding an Aasimar (a creature with celestial ancestors) that had demonic influences as well. Right away the Fallen Aasimar felt like it would fit pretty well story wise.

Maybe there is a village or tribe of Aasimar that take pride in their heritage, some manifesting their features as they mature (which is calculated as a form of social status; some families boasting more prominent features than others), and our unfortunate Halle' manifested her features is a dark way.

Background - Halle' never thought for a moment that her heritage would ever be brought into question. She grew up along side her peers, none the wiser that when she would mature and her features would manifest, she would radiate an aura of fear and dread. Dark gray horns began to protrude from her head in a crown like pattern and skeletal wings would burst and flex from her back when provoked.

This ruined her, destroyed her faith and her belief that she was fated for something pure. Shunned from her mother and father; her brother, paralyzed with fear of her visage, she left.

Seeking solace and peace in the woods, Halle' soon realized that nature didn't care who her ancestors were, or how she looked for a matter of fact. It only cared that if she stuck balance with her surroundings. It took her months to strike that equilibrium she was being called to... But her efforts paid off in the form of Zulu, a red furred ape.

Zulu is a bit of a handful, to say the least. He is often aloof to any who isn't Halle', and if left on his own with a responsibility (Let's say, open the door and cause a distraction), he will do it, but just at the last possible moment, and never before.

When he does warm up to you, or just wants to show his thanks, he jumps on you... A lot. As you can see, Zulu has some strength to him, and thanks to the revised Ranger from Wizards of the Coast (Although it is an Unearthed Arcana as it stands), he will only grow stronger and even more of a help down the road.

Before the Unearthed Arcana revision, Rangers were unimpressive to me, ranking very low on the "favorite classes" list, but now that they gave you the means to actually have a competent animal companion, but one that grows with you as you level up! Just imagine if you found something like a Enlarge Bracelet for your pal? Maybe your DM well let you rock out some Giant Ape abilities (which would kick up Zulu's damage from 1d6 + 1d4 + STR to a 3d10 + 6... Yikes haha Maybe not!).

Either way, I hope Halle' and Zulu find their way to your table someday!
