Thomas Caldwel - Youngest of Three

Thomas Caldwel holds a special place in my heart, for his is the persona I call on when I joust. He is shining and believes that you should always be that powerful symbol everyone needs; even if that means bending the rules a bit. A perfect example is when he's older brothers are fighting in agreed solo combat, but if what they are fighting over affects him, or he feels in his heart that they aren't worthy of the prize, he steps into the fight and assert himself.

Background - Thomas was born third in the lineage of the Caldwel line, and he has lived the life of the youngest brother.

His eldest brother, Tyler, has always protected him and at times babied him, making Thomas feel like the ever growing shadow of his brothers being cast made it harder and harder to be his own man.

Thomas' older brother, Henry, is a good head taller than the other two, and earned his reputation in battle. He was always skilled in battle, and Henry did teach Thomas much about combat, but Thomas rarely beats him.

In terms of physical strength, Thomas has the advantage against both his brothers, but fights and tests of skill rarely involved his strength. Technique and dexterity were almost always the name of the game growing up.

So, to prove himself to his brothers and to his late father, Thomas set out with his single retainer, Morinth, a tiefling woman who has desires to become a powerful spell caster, to adventure and claim glory. If he can gain more renowned than his brothers, he can gain his father's land and become a lord. Treating all in those lands fairly and equally.

Sir Thomas has strong feelings for Morinth, and feels blessed to have her with him, but she has made no effort in expressing feelings one way or another towards him. So, he waits, watching and listening, treating her not as a retainer, but as the woman he enjoys seeing happy. He constantly is trying to get a smile to shine on her face. Her red skin and even more red freckles stretching across her face is a trait he as found very alluring about her.

In his time adventuring, he has encountered his brothers on several occasions, Tyler, often in a tavern or outside a "Lady of the night" establishment; and Henry, more often on the battlefield, wetting his ax against some poor soul that looked at him wrong, good or bad.

It was in moments of desperation trying to protect Morinth did Thomas discover how to tap into a very primal and rage filled part of himself that he can pull from to give him the means of protecting the one he cares for. This power doesn't scare him, but it's not one he has learned how to harness yet. He doesn't always rage when fighting, but the power consumes him when he knows Morinth is in danger or harmed.
