This holy relic was once used as a holy symbol of the mighty Claudia Beckner, a human cleric that served Ilmater, God of Endurance.

Although her great deeds are not well known, the power that she humbly wielded was indeed great and her indomitable will was key when closing a demonic gateway that lead to the 6th layer of hell.

Although the ordeal took her life, she was successful in serving her god by making the biggest sacrifice any one person could make to ensure the safety of many. Unfortunately, the party she traveled with was whipped out, and their sacrifice was lost.

I enjoy this item because it comes with a story. One that can either be used at your table as something your party can stumble across, or you can establish a story or side quest to seek it out. Anything from a dragon hoarding the sensor to religious fanatics trying to corrupt the relic are just two of nearly countless options!
