This blade's history is dark, and comes with a curse to whomever wields it. Although it is a magnificent sword with brilliant design of a flaming bird guard and a talon stretching into the pummel grasping a red orb, a crystallized phoenix eye.

An enchanter got the mad idea to use the flames of a dying and rebirthed phoenix to heat the forge to create weapons of intense magical power. They succeeded... Torturing, killing, and forcing rebirth of the captured phoenix, over and over again to use the flames of the bird to infuse magic into their craft.
Some say the actual soul of the phoenix is trapped inside the blade, forever in a state of undying torment. The sword emits a cursed aura that reaches out to all other birds, calling them to the sword. All birds the sword's carrier or wielder encounters are hostile towards them, even Aarakocras. They all hear the song of the phoenix's soul, calling out, begging to be released.
Curse - All bird and bird like creatures are hostile towards whoever carries the sword. In turn, no Aarakocra can wield the sword. If the weapon is used against a bird like creature, it deals one-quarter damage and the sword bursts with phoenix fire towards the wielder, dealing 8d6 fire damage on a failed DEX saving throw (DC 17), and half as much on a successful one. This reaction ignores the Resistance and Advantage to Fire damage that the sword typically grants.
Just remember, the Identify spell doesn't reveal the curse. Only attuning to the weapon and experiencing the curse first hand gives a clue of it's existing. There is also no simple way to remove curses from weapons or items. Remove Curse doesn't work, and Dispell Magic at a high enough level will destroy the item. It's up the DM to handle how they want to use or even cure this weapon in their campaign. Have fun!
